I took part in the London Big Bang Fair at Uxbridge College in July 2017 with three others ESRs from QMUL Pavanakuma Mohanmuraly, Orest Mykhaskiv and Rejish Jesudasan from Queen Mary University of London.
We met pupils from local schools and introduced them to our research. We demonstrated a drone-like device with different sets of propellers. The students were guessing which propeller shape could produce the most lift and its suitability for 'air-transport'. We heard many correct answers and there was interesting and cheerful discussion. We also showed that computational methods and science can serve as a great base for a good 'guess'.
