Ismael Sānchez Torreguitart

Early Stage Researcher 13 at Von Karman Institute

MSc Thermal Power (Cranfield University). He has a Master of Science in aerospace propulsion, and a Diploma in Aeronautical Engineering (UPC). Ismael has more than 6 years of experience in the aerospace sector, 3 years as a product design engineer (CAD: Catia V5, Unigraphics NX, Solid Edge, CFD: Ansys, Fluent, Numeca, Icem) and 3 years as a programmer (C ++, Python, Matlab) and researcher. He is a specialist in aerodynamics, heat transfer, refrigeration, turbomachinery, optimization and data science (machine learning). He has participated in multiple conferences and international journals, in addition to his doctoral thesis. With a professional career initially spent abroad (England and Belgium), he has conducted his PhD research within the IODA European project H2020 at von Karman Institute for Fluid Dynamics to improve the tools and software (CAD / CAM / CAE) for design/optimization of turbojets and industrial turbomachinery. He has also worked as a product design engineer to solve aerodynamic and cooling problems of the turbines of the Trent1000 and XWB aeronautical engines. He is currently working at Eurecat in the Smart Management System unit as a Data Scientist for a European research project to improve the industrial manufacturing processes of the Ariane 6 Space Launcher.
