The Optimum Stator (OPS) outperforms the Baseline one (BS) in terms of the multi-point optimization requirements (higher turning with reduced total pressure loss), and its 3D shape (shown in the right figure) manages to suppress the corner flow separations. These performance improvements were also experimentally validated (figure below) after measuring both Stators (manufactured using 3D printing) in the lab at the Chair for Aero Engines of TU Berlin. The obtained experimental measurements for the BS were also provided to the rest of the ESRs in order to compare with their approaches.
