A successful outreach activity was conducted by holding a workshop for students of Ryan International School, Shahjahanpur, India on "Exploring the Space" through skype web conferencing. The audience were students in the age group 14 to 16 years, along with some of their faculty members. This workshop was an opportunity for the students to interact with me and seek information about all the current happenings in the space sector. Since, I am an aerospace graduate and worked for the Indian Space Research Organisation for more than 2 years, it was a great opportunity for me to share my experience and knowledge with the upcoming generation who are going to shape the future of this world.
The workshop lasted for more than one hour during which time nearly 20-25 students asked different questions about Indian Space Program, Mars Mission, future space explorations by humans, possibility of space tourism, Space medicine etc. Students were very enthusiastic to understand the steps they should take to plan for a successful career in space engineering.
At the end of the workshop, students were able to ask questions about Space technology. Overall the students appeared to be greatly inspired and motivated to work in the direction of success.
This outreach activity was very satisfying for me, as I shared my knowledge and experience with students who are the future of my country. I will soon take the opportunity to visit them, and have one to one interactions about the possible career opportunities they can have across the globe.
