Queen’s University of Belfast is member of the Russell Group of leading UK universities. The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at Queen’s University Belfast has a strong reputation for research. It is a top ten ranked UK Mechanical Engineering School. It focuses its research in the areas of "Aerospace and Manufacturing", "Advanced Materials and Processing" and "Clean Energies". Much of the research carried out has a strong emphasis on computational methods and the school had access to an array of codes.

Dr Trevor Robinson is a lecturer at QUB. His research focuses on integrating design and analysis tools and techniques, including the integration of feature based computer-aided design models into industrial analysis and optimisation frameworks. He has experience in UK and EU research projects, including EC FP6 and FP7 projects.

QUB will host ESR 10.
